Clitterhouse Playing Fields is the focal point of the open space provision at Brent
Cross Cricklewood. Millions of pounds will be spent on extensive landscaping and
new facilities to create a very special Community Park. This will be backed up by
community sports and leisure programmes to encourage people to use the park.
A maintenance regime including a dedicated Park Ranger is also planned.
Core elements include:
New landscaping to create a simple framework
of open grass spaces and avenue planting,
enriched with areas of woodland planting,
flower beds and meadow grassland.
Improved access and circulation with a network
of paths linking key destinations and new secure
boundary fencing to control motorcycle and
vehicular access whilst maintaining free access
for pedestrians, cyclists and disabled users.
The remodelling of levels and improved drainage to create flexible space to provide for a range of grass pitches.
New high quality sports facilities, including
synthetic turf pitches and hard sports courts
to cater for a variety of different sports and age
groups. Areas E and C will be shared with
the new school and open to the public outside
of the school day.
Informal recreation space to encourage outdoor
activities and exercise, including a trim trail,
boules courts, picnic areas and open grassland.
New community facilities including child play
facilities, a dedicated ‘Dog Park’ area, a café,
changing rooms, booking office, secure cycle
parking and car parking.
